Editorial Policy

Our website contains two types of health content:

  1. Drug information created by our editorial staff.
  2. Licensed content from external sources.

Health Content Review and Approval Process:

We have an editorial review process in place to ensure that information is clear and accurate, meets legal, security, and brand requirements. Original health content must meet the following additional criteria:

  • Evidence-Based Medicine - Topics based on the use of current best available external clinical evidence in making decisions about patient care.
  • Clinical Significance - Medical findings published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
  • Relevance - News and topics that may affect your health and your health care choices.
  • Trends - Health issues currently in the news or a matter of public health awareness; community practice standards.

Sources of health content are verified and noted on the website, along with the date last updated. All health content is scheduled to be reviewed annually by clinical staff.

Editorial Process:

1 – Content Development

Senior medical editors, medical writers, or medical illustrators develop content. Previously published content is tagged for review and is internally reviewed for any additions or deletions. Acquired content, depending on the source, may enter the editorial process at this stage.

2 – Content Review

Members of the Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacy Committee and/or licensed Pharmacists who are specialists in their field, review all of the content.. Physicians/Pharmacists review content in their specialty areas; ensure content is up-to-date with the most recent treatment guidelines and practices, important studies, breakthrough drugs, and drug warnings. All content reviews are approved by the KDIC Director.

3 – Content Editorial

The Editorial Team reviews all content, both textual and visual for grammar, style, and consistency. A content quality assurance check is also performed. Acquired content, which has demonstrated adherence to the criteria.

4 – Content Production

The content is indexed, stored in our proprietary in-house content management system, coded, and tagged for presentation. Associated Arabic content is translated and stored in our content management system at this time. A technical and content quality assurance check is also performed during this step.

5 – Content Publication

Content is provided to audience on our website. Content is regularly updated. In most cases, the update cycle is daily.
